§ 1 Scope, contracting party, definitions
- These Ticket and Participation Terms (“Terms”) govern the purchase of tickets for, and participation in, the SynBioReactor Summit 2027 (“Summit”), taking place on 14–15 January 2027 at silent green, Gerichtstraße 35, 13347 Berlin, Germany (“Venue”).
- The organiser and sole contracting party is:
GASB – German Association for Synthetic Biology e.V. (“GASB”, “Organiser”, “we”)
Neue Kasseler Straße 12i, 35039 Marburg, Germany
Register of Associations: Amtsgericht Marburg, VR 5383 · Represented by the Executive Board (Vorstand): Florian Hänsel (Chairperson), Dominic Schirmer (Deputy Chairperson), Benedikt Wiebach (Treasurer)
VAT ID (USt-IdNr.): DE321931439 · Email: sbr@ga-sb.de · Web: www.synbioreactor.de
- Definitions: “Ticket Holder” means the natural person named on a ticket and entitled to admission. “Buyer” means the person or entity that concludes the purchase contract; Buyer and Ticket Holder may differ. “Attendee” means any person present at the Summit on the basis of a ticket, accreditation or invitation, including speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, press and guests. “Networking App” means the digital matchmaking and agenda application provided for the Summit (currently SwapCard).
- These Terms apply to Buyers and, upon admission, to all Attendees. Separate agreements apply to sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and media partners; where such an agreement conflicts with these Terms, the individual agreement prevails for that party.
- Conflicting or supplementary terms of the Buyer do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.
§ 2 Ticket platform, role of the platform provider
- Tickets are sold through the online ticketing platform of Ticket Tailor (a trading name of Zimma Ltd), Unit 219, Mare Street Studios, 203–213 Mare Street, London E8 3LY, United Kingdom (“Platform”). The Platform provides the technical infrastructure only. It does not become a party to the contract between GASB and the Buyer.
- Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, and paid out to GASB. Neither the Platform nor the payment service provider owes any obligation to deliver the Summit or to grant refunds.
- Use of the Platform is additionally subject to the Platform’s own terms and privacy notice. GASB has no influence over them. In the event of conflict, these Terms govern the relationship between GASB and the Buyer.
- Where the Platform, the payment service provider or the Networking App is temporarily unavailable, GASB will offer a reasonable alternative route to purchase or admission. Temporary technical unavailability does not entitle the Buyer to withdraw from a concluded contract.
§ 3 Conclusion of contract
- The presentation of tickets on the Platform or on www.synbioreactor.de does not constitute a binding offer.
- By selecting one or more tickets, entering the required data and clicking the button completing payment, the Buyer submits a binding offer to conclude a contract.
- The contract is concluded when GASB accepts the offer. Acceptance occurs, at GASB’s discretion, either through the order confirmation sent by email or through delivery of the ticket. An automated acknowledgement of receipt does not constitute acceptance.
- The contract is concluded in German and English. The contract text is not stored by GASB in a form separately accessible to the Buyer beyond the order confirmation and these Terms; we recommend that Buyers retain both.
- GASB may refuse to conclude a contract, or may rescind a concluded contract within 14 days, where a ticket was obtained using false information, where eligibility criteria under § 5 are not met, where the number of tickets ordered indicates commercial resale, or where the Buyer has previously been excluded from a GASB event under § 12.
§ 4 Prices, taxes, payment, invoices
- All prices are stated in euros. Ticket prices are net prices exclusive of statutory value added tax; VAT at the applicable rate (currently 19 %) is added and shown separately during checkout.
- The ticket prices applicable at the time of publication of these Terms are:
| Ticket category | Early Bird (until 31 October 2026) | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Admission | EUR 650.00 net | EUR 750.00 net |
| Startups & Researchers | EUR 200.00 net | EUR 250.00 net |
| NGO | EUR 200.00 net | EUR 250.00 net |
- No booking or transaction fees are charged to the Buyer. Costs incurred by the Buyer for the chosen payment method are borne by the Buyer.
- GASB may adjust prices for tickets not yet sold at any time, and may close or extend the Early Bird period. Contracts already concluded are unaffected.
- Payment is due in full at the time of purchase, by the payment methods offered at checkout. There is no entitlement to payment by invoice.
- Invoices are issued electronically and sent to the email address provided by the Buyer. The Buyer consents to receiving invoices in electronic form.
- In the event of default, statutory default interest applies. Where a payment is reversed or charged back, GASB may pass on bank charges and block the affected ticket.
§ 5 Ticket categories and eligibility
- The Startups & Researchers category is available only to (a) persons employed by, or founders of, a company founded between 2016 and 2026 with a scalable deep-tech business model, or (b) students, doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers affiliated with a university or research institution.
- The NGO category is available only to persons acting on behalf of a non-profit organisation.
- The Regular Admission category is available without restriction.
- By purchasing a reduced ticket, the Buyer represents that eligibility criteria are met. GASB may request suitable evidence up to and including admission.
- If evidence is not provided, GASB may offer an upgrade to Regular Admission or cancel the ticket (refusing admission) with a EUR 25.00 fee deduction.
§ 6 Discount codes, vouchers, complimentary tickets
Discount codes reduce the net price. They are non-combinable unless stated otherwise. Complimentary/speaker tickets are personal, non-transferable and carry no cash value.
§ 7 Cancellation by Buyer, name changes, resale
- Tickets are non-refundable. Cancellation by the Buyer is not possible, and non-attendance gives no claim to a refund.
- Name changes are free of charge up to three (3) business days before the Summit via sbr@ga-sb.de or self-service on Ticket Tailor. Afterwards, a EUR 25.00 fee may apply.
- Commercial resale and unauthorised transfer are strictly prohibited. Tickets offered above original price or without written consent may be cancelled without compensation.
§ 8 Right of withdrawal for consumers
Pursuant to § 312g(2) no. 9 BGB, contracts for services in connection with leisure activities provided on specific calendar dates carry no statutory right of withdrawal. Individual hardship cases (e.g. visa refusal, documented illness) will be handled on a goodwill basis.
§ 9 – § 21 Admission, Conduct, Liability & Final Provisions
- § 9 Admission & Badge: Requires valid ticket and photo ID. Badges must be worn visibly and are non-transferable. House rules of silent green Berlin apply. Minimum age: 18 years. No hazardous or biological materials permitted.
- § 10 Programme Changes: Speaker substitutions and timetable adjustments do not entitle buyers to refunds.
- § 11 Cancellation/Postponement: If postponed or relocated, tickets remain valid or full refund available within 14 days. Travel and accommodation expenses are not refunded.
- § 12 Code of Conduct: Respectful, safe, harassment-free environment. Disruptive or discriminatory behavior leads to immediate exclusion without refund.
- § 13 Photography & Media: GASB documents the Summit. Attendees can request no-photo lanyards. Personal non-commercial photos are permitted; session recording/streaming requires written consent.
- § 14 Networking App: Directory listings and matchmaking are voluntary and based on explicit consent.
- § 16 Liability: Liability limited to intentional or grossly negligent breach of duties and injury to life, body or health.
- § 21 Final Provisions: German law applies. Place of performance and jurisdiction: Berlin. In case of discrepancy, the German version prevails.
